Little Bit Creative

It’s sad, but since starting homeschooling, it seems that there is very little time left for crafty endeavors.  I got in a couple projects for an online crop the other day though. I’m actually really happy with the layout, but unfortunately the pic I took of it is terrible.  This new camera just doesn’t like to focus when there isn’t a lot of sunlight. Looks a lot crisper in real life.

The Twinery

I’ve made so many projects using twine from The Twinery over the last few months.  Sadly, I don’t have pictures of everything, as I was without a camera for a good part of that time.  I LOVE The Twinery’s baker twine.  It comes in so many yummy colors and I find many of them are perfect for fall crafting.  You can find an autumn twine pack on their website, but if I were to buy colors for fall, I would include the lilac twine as well – this is my favorite season for purple.

Here are a few of my favorite projects using The Twinery’s twine in scrapbooking and cardmaking (of course, it’s also a beautiful used to wrap up packages or envelopes, as well!):

I’m so glad to be back to actually posting pictures again.  Yay for new cameras!!!  Here’s a little peek at the homemade fall decor on the shelf over my couch.  The “artwork” is made with lots and LOTS of glimmer mist and inks.  The banner is all handmade with up-cycled cardboard boxes as the base for each pennant.  Letters are cut by hand and covered in Martha Stewart glitter.

I had fun with this kit! Super versatile! I did get a little obsessed with pinwheels this month, though. Click on image above to purchase.

Loved playing with Echo Park Summer papers here!

And this one is various paper scraps from my desk. 🙂

I can’t even tell you how much I love this kit!  Such a fun fun kit for summer!  And it’s only $3.50 – think how much you can add to your summer crafts with this inexpensive kit!  (Click on the image above to purchase.)

Playing

I decided to play along with the XOXO girl’s challenge blog this month again.  This month the sponsor is Lucky Girl Crafts.  I scrap-lifted two layouts.  This first one is my attempt to lift Sarah Webb’s beautiful layout and turn it from girly to masculine.

Junk Food Layout

Supplies:

  • Hobby Lobby cardstock
  • SavvynSassy ricrac from the August kit
  • Caribbean baker’s twine and free printable label from The Twinery
  • Basic Grey paper and chipboard
  • 7Gypsies stickers
  • Cosmo Cricket and American Crafts alphas
  • Cinder glimmer mist
  • orange acrylic paint

For this second layout, I lifted the basic “sketch” of Kimmy Jaster’s layout, but totally changed up the theme, colors, and made it a little more simple.

Play in the Surf Layout

Supplies

  • ribbon and trim from SavvynSassy
  • Echo Park papers, stickers, and alphas
  • Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphas

This fun kit really inspired me to do some fun beach pages. I love these beautiful cool colors! Just click on the image above to purchase this kit.

Sweet Sweet Summertime

Supplies: Pink Paislee papers and border sticker and glitter brads, MM alpha stickers, Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphas, SNS ribbon and trim from the July kit, Prima flower, paints, unknown menu card and cardstock.

Techniques: the bright yellow cardstock is washed with ivory and white paint to give a softer color and texture, paper edges are distressed with scissors blades, cut out popsicles from paper and popped on 3D foam for an embellishment.

This is another page inspired by the XOXO challenge blog.  This is from challenge #10 sponsored by Divine Design Kits.  I lifted Sarah Webb’s design here. I used a technique here from hair bow making to make the twisty grosgrain ribbon springs.

Pink Paislee and Crate papers, Pink Paislee stickers, Cosmo Cricket tiny type alpha stickers, American Crafts thickers, Prima and various flowers, various buttons, Prima leaves, ribbons by SavvynSassy

I finally got some inspiration! Only problem is that I was supposed to be working on pages for my grandma’s album and there is no way on earth this is going to fit in an album.  We’re talking more like three-inch deep shadow box here.  🙂

I got inspiration from challenge #10 at the XOXO Challenge Blog sponsored by Divine Design Kits.  I chose to scraplift layout #1 by Emma Ruth Fronda.

Background is created by inking and sliding a chunk of corrugated cardboard across some kraft cardstock.

I made the flowers by sewing together different shades of crinkled seam binding from Bluebird Lane on etsy (the tag is also from the same shop).

Supplies:

Pink Paislee papers, vintage lace, handmade flowers, AC thickers, MM journaling sticker, handmade butterfly, ribbon and trim from SavvynSassy, Prima leaves, tag from Bluebird Lane
