Bag of Tricks

There are a couple left in my etsy shop!

So since I had out my Pink Paislee papers…I made my book group invitations!  Ribbons and trims from the October Savvy n Sassy kit.

26 – think about how you use your space and see if there are some ways you can more efficiently organize supplies.  I found that a lot of the stuff that was stored on the shelves right next to my work desk wasn’t actually stuff I used often.  So I moved those things to the other side of the room and put the things that I use the most closest to my workspace. working a lot better! 🙂

Starting School

We got a little bit of a start on school today…at the dentist’s office. 🙂 We did a little reading lesson review and art appreciation in the waiting room while Matt was having some work done.

And tomorrow is our first day of co-op! Autumn is really excited about “going to school”, but bummed that she doesn’t get to ride on a school bus.

I’ve always been a big believer in not starting school this early, but Autumn is obviously ready. She asks for reading lessons frequently and is always asking me how to spell things and write letters, so it seems that we’re starting school.

So far, this is what I’m planning on doing this year…

Unit Studies – “Teach Me Mommy” (nature, rhymes, songs, activities, read-aloud time, etc.)
Reading/Writing – “Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons” (part of this will be review)
Art Appreciation – the “Come Look With Me” series
Bible – probably will just be doing “The Bible Story” series a little every day
Math – “Math Play” and some basic workbooks/activity sheets to help recognize and write numbers

Homeschool Co-op once a week (Playtime, Science, Storytime, Arts and Crafts)
Storytime/Computer at the library once a week

I bought these papers last year and finally had a chance to use them!  I started with chipboard coasters and covered them each with distressed and doodled Pink Paislee papers.   Tulle is gathered around each circle to form a rosette.  The letters “B-O-O” are hand cut from a vintage French book and the lace is also a vintage estate sale find.  All ribbons are from the October Savvy n Sassy kit.

I used two of the Pink Paislee owls and layered them up for dimension.  I cut apart one owl and paper pieced it with the other one using lots of dimensional 3D tape and doodling faux stitches on the edges.

I cut out branches from Pink Paislee paper for this “O”

I hand-cut these leaves from Pink Paislee paper as well.
