Yay!  Organizing all those alterables and getting rid of the sewing machine opened up a fold-down cabinet for tools right next to my work space.  I want to get some more study bins, but for now I have a cardboard box holding my bind-it-all with coils and accessories, mini sewing machine, etc.  This challenge was about gathering those items and storing them.  Short compared to the last few tasks, but really helpful anyway.

Well today was a little different.  I don’t have many tools actually.

But one of them in a hand-me-down sewing machine that takes up a lot of space and I don’t know how to use it.  I took the time to finally pull out the manual and get it set up today, but there is definitely something wrong with it that I can’t figure out or fix.  After debating for a while, I’m going to give it away to someone who can either perform or pay for the repair and save up some money for a new, more basic model.

For now though, it means more space for me and my supplies!

I’ve had a big blanket bag full of vintage treasures given me by my grandmother — and it’s been sitting around long enough!  I finally took some time and sorted through it.  It all fit perfectly into big ribbon-tied boxes we picked up a year or so ago at a clearance sale.  And now I know exactly what I have!  Just fit in that empty space in my newly-organized cabinet.

Spent a LONG time today sorting through a cabinet of alterables. Over the past couple years they’ve just been getting shoved into one cabinet with my (unused) sewing machine and taking up a lot of space. Also, the cabinet space underneath was badly in need of organization. I divided up the alterables and put temporary labels on them. I found a lot of space by tossing old scraps from wedding inviation and baby announcement projects that I didn’t even know I had!

Each day 30 minutes organizing ribbon!  I keep thinking I have all the spools transferred to clothes pins, but then I find another pile of spools somewhere buried.  As I’m transferring ribbons to spools, I’m listing some of my extras in my etsy shop!  Check them out! Smartlilcookie

Today: Get EVERYTHING off the floor.  Doesn’t matter if it is just piled up on the table or couch.  Get it off the floor and sweep up all the bits and bobs of paper and thread, etc.

Extra Purge Challenge: Find 5 items you don’t need to donate or sell.

Okay, granted, not exactly healthy, but these are super yummy!

Basic Zucchini Bread
3 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar (i use less)
2 cups grated zucchini
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 T cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup nuts (i use more)

Beat eggs and add in sugar, vanilla, oil, and zucchini. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in two greased loaf pans or muffin tins at 325-350 for about an hour (less for muffins).

Chocolate Zucchini Cake
3 eggs
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup oil
1 T vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups shredded zucchini
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup cocoa
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
nuts (i use a lot)

Follow directions for zucchini bread, but pour into a greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 350 until done, center will bounce back when touched.

Remove from pan and cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or a powdered sugar glaze.

Still more to do on the stamps, but I really need to work on sorting through stuff piled around, so I’ve put the stamps on hold for a bit.

Yesterday, set up a new table to stash bins of old pictures, etc under, and sort things on top.  Also picked up a great metal bucket for 80% at Hobby Lobby to hold journaling cards, etc.

Today, I’ve spent 45 minutes or so sorting out etsy items and packaging them up.  It will make it so much easier to keep track of stuff!
