Archive for June, 2008

I just found out that I’ve been selected to be a Design Team member at Scrapbook Dreamer!!!  I’ve tried out for so many design teams over the past couple of years that I had almost given up hope.  It was a complete SHOCK to find out–(sorry Jessica for screaming in your ear over the phone when I opened my email!)–and I’m so excited!!!  Come on by and check out the store and forums over at Scrapbook Dreamer!!!

Fly Away…

I created this layout for the Scraplift Challenge over at Scrapbook Dreamer.  I lifted Chelle’s gorgeous GROW layout for this challenge.  It was the first time I’ve ever used a Heidi Swapp mask, and I was really happy with how it came out–I’m definitely going to play with these some more in the future!  And of course I had to doodle it up!  :0)

Supplies: Basic Grey paper and monograms, Heidi Swapp mask and chipboard alphas, Prima and Kaiser Craft flowers, Doodlebug buttons, Extra-fine sharpie, MM paper (blue), Fiskars Threading Water punch

This month I want to see something recycled/reused for your project. (I posted this as an NSD challenge, but no one got a chance to finish it before the deadline.)

This can be an altered item, layout, or a set of (at least) 4 cards. You must use at least two different ribbons and at least one recycled item.

Some examples could be altered packaging material, cereal boxes, etc. Or you can use something from the trash on your layout–bread tags, bubble wrap, labels, etc.

note: If you do not qualify to be GDT next month and you want to try this challenge, feel free to do so–I’ll give a random RAK to someone from everyone who does this challenge before the 28th. This means DT members can do the challenge too! 🙂

Have fun and get creative!

I’ll post an example soon!

1. You may enter the contest each month unless you have won the month prior.

2. Your layout must meet the contest rules and guidelines to be eligible.

3. Your layout has to be newly created specifically for this contest.

4. You may share your layout on other websites.

5. You must be a registered member with the forum and have a minimum of 10 posts to enter the contest.

6. If you do not meet all the requirements of the contest rules your layout will be disqualified so please pay close attention to the guidelines and rules.

7. Contest runs each month from the 1st to 28th, so you have to upload your creations by midnight MST on 28th each month to be eligible to win.

8. If you win the contest you will be a guest DT member for the next month, and SNS will send you one of the ribbons kits to create 3 projects with.

I love polka dots. I love black and white ribbons. I LOVE this kit!!!

Share With Your Friends

For this layout I just used strips of the ribbon as embellishments. The white ribbon with black dots used under the black chipboard thickers really helped make them stand out from the background paper.

Other Supplies: SEI papers, American Crafts thickers, Autumn Leaves journaling stamp, Lil’ Davis alphas, Hobby Lobby felt heart, popdots

Family Pizza Night

For this layout I used stickers and ribbon in place of patterned paper. A hint when using knotted ribbon on a ribbon strip like this–you don’t have to actually tie the shorter pieces on to the long ribbon strip. Instead, just tie small knots and glue them on. 🙂

Other Supplies: unknown cardstock, 7Gypsies stickers, American Crafts and Paper Studio alphas, Martha Stewart red pen

Other Supplies: American Crafts Thickers and Papers, staples

Assorted Cards

Made completely with scraps. 🙂

Other Supplies: American Crafts and Scenice Route papers, AC rubons, Paper Studio alphas, Heidi Swapp and Kaiser Craft flowers.
