Autumn

-Seeing a mockingbird hopping around the front yard today: “DUCK!! Duck–SEE DUCK???!!!!” (Everything with a beak or bill is a duck in her mind. Oh, and chicken…chicken is something you eat.)
-She loves the moon and is expert at finding it in the sky whether it’s day or night.
-She now informs us “I stinky” when she needs a change.
-“Noooooooooo, Nooooooooo” is becoming a favorite phrase.
-When I’m working on stuff outside she has to help. If I don’t let her hold the hose when I’m watering the flower beds, she grabs a watering can and goes over to the faucet, trying to unscrew the hose so she can water things all by herself.
-She loves carrying a purse, always hanging over her elbow.
-One of her absolute favorite activities is making the bed. She hands me each pillow and blanket and when we get finished she is SOOOOO happy that she did it!
-Her baby’s name is “Deeshee” D.C. but with an H in there. Why? I have no idea, but that is what she calls it.
-She insists on having her vitamin every day. Runs in the kitchen, points at the shelf and yells, “Treat, treat” until she gets it.

Another project done!

Not really a scrapping project, but I finished a photo-clock that has been sitting in my craft room for about a year.

…has been mostly taken up by a lingering headache and following dd around, cleaning up after her. But I got a quick spurt of creativity and decided to work on an altered project. So I did what I could for about 45 minutes. It’s drying now and I think there is one more thing that will need to be added, but I’m not sure. I’ll post a pic if it turns out.

I’ve been challenging myself to finish some of the projects and items waiting to be altered that are currently filling my scraproom. I got one mini-book done yesterday (will post pics when the gift is received) and now working on this project. So I’m feeling a little better about all that clutter in there.

Oh, and I’ll be doing a MW party at the end of the month. There are supposed to be 20-30 people there. I had planned on doing an altered item, but with this many people may have to do just a little layout. Any good ideas for a 6×6 layout anyone?

ETA: Here are the photos of my project. They’re not the greatest, since they were taken in the dark, but I’m very happy with how it turned out. I didn’t have any sort of plan when I sat down, just that I wanted to use these green chipboard letters and alter this metal sign I picked up last fall.

Food fight!

Seriously, it’s 4:00 am, why am I still awake?

Oh, now I remember, it’s the first night in a week I haven’t had to take Nyquil. Ugh. If I take it now I’ll sleep all morning and won’t remember to get Autumn out of bed.

I have completely lost count of these.  Let me see…

End of February I was at 30 layouts, 50+ cards

I need to count…

Ok, I think there were a few more, but I’m pretty sure I have at least 37 new layouts since then…

And around 300 cards (lol-wedding invitations add up)

So about 67 layouts and 350+ cards.  Not too bad, but I’m really gonna have to ramp up the layouts if I’m going to meet my goal for this year.

Oops!  I misread the due date on this and got it up a day late so I’m out of the running for the prize over at Savvy and Sassy 😦  Too bad, cause I really love their stuff and the prizes were awesome.  Oh well.  I’m still glad I got the layout done.  It’s another one of me as a toddler.  We were supposed to scrap about an obsession other than scrapbooking.  Here’s mine:

Flower details:

My new favorite products are stickles and diamond glaze.  I absolutely love them!!!

Supplies:

CS: Bazzill; PP:MME; Stickles glitter; diamond glaze, brown Zig writer; mini ricrac: SavvynSassy; rose bud ribbon trim stuff: Hobby Lobby; Chipboard: BG and Heidi Swapp; Ink: Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Distress Ink

I headed to Atlanta with a couple gals from our local scrapping group today.  We went to Just Let Me Scrapbook and the Grand Opening of the second Atlanta Archivers.  And I spent a LOT!  But it’s okay, I’ve been on a spending freeze for over a month to save up for this trip.  And still I could not bring myself to buy anything but paper.  I think there is something wrong with me.  Unless it is more than 50% off I will not buy anything but paper and ribbon.  And those I only buy because they are the cheapest supplies out there.  That, and I can make my own embellishments out of them.  🙂

So, yeah, I had a great time today and came home with …

115 sheets of paper!!!

My review: go buy it!  Of all the adhesive rollers I’ve tried, this is my favorite.  I reviewed the original (and non-refillable) adhesive roller on this blog not too long ago and was really impressed with how well it held and the way it uses itty-bitty dots of glue, rather than tabs or double sided tape.  Add the fact that you can re-fill this one, and it’s just about perfect.

The case is sturdier than any of the other rollers I’ve used, but is easy to take apart to refill.  Other rollers I’ve tried have issues with the used part of the tape slipping out and getting tangled.  This one didn’t do that at all.  It rolled smoothly and I got a lot of use out of it before my first refill ran out.

The only (minor) problem I had was that the black rubber finger grip on top tried to slip out a couple of times, but it was really simple to push back into place.

Overall, a great product and one I plan to continue using!
