So since I had out my Pink Paislee papers…I made my book group invitations!  Ribbons and trims from the October Savvy n Sassy kit.

26 – think about how you use your space and see if there are some ways you can more efficiently organize supplies.  I found that a lot of the stuff that was stored on the shelves right next to my work desk wasn’t actually stuff I used often.  So I moved those things to the other side of the room and put the things that I use the most closest to my workspace. working a lot better!

I bought these papers last year and finally had a chance to use them!  I started with chipboard coasters and covered them each with distressed and doodled Pink Paislee papers.   Tulle is gathered around each circle to form a rosette.  The letters “B-O-O” are hand cut from a vintage French book and the lace is also a vintage estate sale find.  All ribbons are from the October Savvy n Sassy kit.

I used two of the Pink Paislee owls and layered them up for dimension.  I cut apart one owl and paper pieced it with the other one using lots of dimensional 3D tape and doodling faux stitches on the edges.

Yay!  Organizing all those alterables and getting rid of the sewing machine opened up a fold-down cabinet for tools right next to my work space.  I want to get some more study bins, but for now I have a cardboard box holding my bind-it-all with coils and accessories, mini sewing machine, etc.  This challenge was about gathering those items and storing them.  Short compared to the last few tasks, but really helpful anyway.

Well today was a little different.  I don’t have many tools actually.

But one of them in a hand-me-down sewing machine that takes up a lot of space and I don’t know how to use it.  I took the time to finally pull out the manual and get it set up today, but there is definitely something wrong with it that I can’t figure out or fix.  After debating for a while, I’m going to give it away to someone who can either perform or pay for the repair and save up some money for a new, more basic model.

For now though, it means more space for me and my supplies!

I’ve had a big blanket bag full of vintage treasures given me by my grandmother — and it’s been sitting around long enough!  I finally took some time and sorted through it.  It all fit perfectly into big ribbon-tied boxes we picked up a year or so ago at a clearance sale.  And now I know exactly what I have!  Just fit in that empty space in my newly-organized cabinet.

Spent a LONG time today sorting through a cabinet of alterables. Over the past couple years they’ve just been getting shoved into one cabinet with my (unused) sewing machine and taking up a lot of space. Also, the cabinet space underneath was badly in need of organization. I divided up the alterables and put temporary labels on them. I found a lot of space by tossing old scraps from wedding inviation and baby announcement projects that I didn’t even know I had!
